Training and an award – Flottweg trainees receive State Prize and KMK Foreign Language Certificate

For many young people, training is their first step into the professional world and gives them the opportunity to identify their strengths. Which makes it all the better when trainees excel by performing well and providing above-average dedication.

Two trainees have received awards at Flottweg this year: Selina Jahn and Julia Fleischer completed their industrial clerk training as well as foreign language correspondent qualification, with both receiving two awards. Both trainees received the State Prize (Staatspreis), which is awarded for excellent scholastic performance during training by recommendation from their trade school, and the Foreign Language Certificate (KMK), which is awarded throughout Germany after successful completion of a special foreign language examination with professional focus by the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs.

Industrial clerk training and foreign language correspondent qualification takes three years at Flottweg, but this time can be shortened by corresponding scholastic achievement. "I learned about many different Flottweg departments during my training", explains Julia Fleischer. "From Purchasing to HR to Service, I gained insight into the value creation process and all of the related business activities. This has helped me determine where my strengths are." The 18-year-old will stay at Flottweg after her training and work with its Marketing team. Selina Jahn will also stay with this separation technology specialist: "Now I want to use my experience from training and work in Service. There I will help process quotes and orders for spare parts. Selina is happy to recommend the Flottweg training program to anyone interested in business management: "This training combines business management with different foreign languages. The most important thing is that you enjoy working on a team and are open to new ideas. It also helps when you are independent, enjoy speaking with other people, understand business processes, and have a flair for languages."
