Minister of State Dr. Herrmann honors state winners of Jugend forscht Bayern 2024

On 15.05.2024, Minister of State Dr. Herrmann welcomed the 14 winners of this year's Jugend forscht Bayern state competition at the Prinz-Carl-Palais in Munich. The 14 young scientists impressed the jury at the Bavarian state competition at the beginning of April and will now represent Bavaria with their projects in the national final. This year, Flottweg SE from Vilsbiburg once again took on the state sponsorship for the STEM competition for young talent.

State reception at Prinz Carl Palais honors the state winners

Minister of State Dr. Florian Herrmann, Head of the State Chancellery, congratulated the state winners: "You are among Bavaria's brightest minds. Bavaria stands for research and high-tech with practical implementation. They have dedicated themselves to their projects with creativity, intelligence and diligence in order to find answers for tomorrow. It can be a long way from the idea to the result. With enthusiasm and perseverance, they have persevered and made their research a success. This is what distinguishes state winners. They are role models and figureheads for Bavaria as a high-tech location. They are a treasure of which we are proud and which we nurture."

 

This year, topics such as artificial intelligence, sustainability and ecology played an important role in the research projects under the motto "Make up your mind". Sven Bedö, Flottweg's sponsorship representative for Jugend forscht, is delighted with the great research projects that won this year: "Germany's innovative strength is largely based on the curiosity of young talents to discover and develop new things. It is precisely this ability that the young researchers have impressively demonstrated with their multifaceted projects!"

 

Uli Herwanger, competition director of the Bavarian state competition, took the opportunity to thank everyone involved: "Jugend forscht thrives on a unique spirit: this is where committed young people, schools, business, science and research come together to create extraordinary projects. I would therefore like to thank all partners, the supervising teachers, the Ministry of Culture and Flottweg as state sponsor for their commitment. I would especially like to thank Minister of State Dr. Herrmann for this honorable reception."

 

The national finals of Jugend forscht will take place from May 30 to June 2, 2024 in Heilbronn. There, the Bavarian state winners will represent the Free State and compete against the winners from the other federal states in the categories of working environment, biology, chemistry, earth and space sciences, mathematics/computer science, physics and technology.
