Flottweg SE is "World Market Leader 2018"

Vilsbiburg-based company Flottweg was named one of the pioneering companies in its sector in the independent ranking "World Market Leader 2018" by the University of St. Gallen – an award for successful, internationally active companies, generally with leading technologies and outstanding product quality.

In an objective and transparent selection process, the leading companies in a wide range of industries were identified once again this year in the large-scale "World Market Leader 2018" project. The result: Flottweg is one of the world market leader champions of 2018 in the segment of mechanical separation technology – a great award for the internationally successful entrepreneurial activities of the Vilsbiburg company. "This listing as world market leader is an enormous distinction for us. It is both a confirmation of what we have achieved and an incentive to further expand our pioneering role," says Nils Engelke, PR and communications manager at Flottweg SE.

 

What makes a company a world market leader?

Inclusion in the "World Market Leader Index" is ultimately based on a number of criteria, including at least 50 percent of (owner) management based in the DACH region. Companies must also operate internationally on or export to at least three out of six continents with their own production and/or distribution companies. At an annual turnover of more than 50 million euros, the share of foreign exports must be at least 50 percent. Companies must be one of the two market leaders in their industry in the relevant global market segment.

 

In addition to these selection criteria, extensive information about the companies was collected as part of the project. It is based on a database currently containing approximately 1,300 entries for potential world market leaders.

The findings of the research were then made available to the public and economic policymakers in condensed form.

Prof. Christoph Müller of the HBM Business School at the University of St. Gallen was the scientific director of the project. As a cooperation partner, the Academy of German World Market Leaders (Schwäbisch Hall) of former Baden-Württemberg Minister of Economic Affairs Dr. Walter Döring was actively involved in the preparation of the "World Market Leader Index".
